John Goehrke Gets Invited To The Super Bowl LII With Eugenie Bouchard, Again
Can Luck Get Any Better?
University of Missouri student John Goehrke, who famously won a date in a twitter bet with tennis player Genie Bouchard, has been invited to attend Super Bowl LII — with Bouchard in tow, of course.
It’s a tale as old as time: random dude sends a tweet hoping to get the attention of a comely celebrity. The celebrity responds, and agrees to a harmless bet. The celebrity loses the said bet, and actually honours her offer to go on a date with the random dude — and then again later. It’s how your parents met, probably (jk!)
That’s the story of University of Missouri student John Goehrke, who bet tennis player Genie Bouchard that she should go on a date with him if the Atlanta Falcons managed to blow their 11-point lead in last year’s Super Bowl. We all know what happened, and Bouchard made good on the bet. They attended a Brooklyn Nets game, and then hung out again last month, sparking rumors of a genuine, budding romance.
Now, the pair will return to place where whatever this is started — the Super Bowl.
It started (again) on Twitter, where NFL Canada (a thing that exists, apparently) offered to send the two to Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis next month.
